What Makes This Book Different
I have read over one hundred fibromyalgia-related books, downloaded countless PDFs, and bought many unhelpful courses. Each time I hoped for answers, instead most repeated the same ideas: focusing only on theories, symptoms or pain management. None gave me the whole picture and very few shared stories of real recovery. Some came with hidden sales pitches for supplements, diets or “magic cures,” where the authors shape their advice around the products they want to sell.
This book is different. I am not here to sell you anything or promise quick fixes. What I offer are the real, practical methods that helped me reclaim my health, along with motivation and a clear roadmap to move from despair to action.
I am living proof that full recovery is possible. With the right knowledge and mindset, you can take back control of your life. That is why I wrote this book: the all-in-one guide I wish I had had from the very start. I focus on your recovery.
If you have been told there is no cure for fibro, I am here to offer a unique perspective. Pain doesn’t have to be your lifelong reality and doesn’t have to define your future. I was once trapped in a cycle of pain, but today I am pain-free.
Being pain-free is the strongest evidence that my understanding of what causes and what heals fibromyalgia is accurate.
Prepare to be challenged, because what I’m about to share may change the way you think about your body, your pain, your mind, your fibro, and even your future.
My passion is helping others with fibromyalgia find hope, strength and confidence in their own healing.
My mission is simple: to show you that recovery is possible and that you have the power to achieve it too. Far too many people are suffering with fibro when there is hope, when recovery, or at the very least a brighter, more bearable life, is possible. My mission is to spread this message to the world so that one day doctors will offer hope and encouragement instead of saying: “There is no cure, you just have to live with it.”
Advice from someone who has lived through the pain and recovered can offer insights that go beyond traditional guidance and inspire you to believe that change is possible.
The path is here. Now it’s up to you to take the first step.

About Me
I was born in Belgium and moved to the UK over 30 years ago. I am a mum, a wife, an entrepreneur, an author and an ex-fibromyalgia sufferer. I was 59 years young when I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia.
My past holds a lot of pain. For over 20 years, my life was filled with cruelty, bullying, and a violent marriage. With grit and determination I turned things around and built a new life as a successful businesswoman. I wrote my life story in my book No Fourth River. I wanted to tell the world that no matter how difficult your past has been, you have the power to shape your future.
My fibromyalgia-diagnosis was about two years after that story ended, I felt exhausted, overwhelmed and uncertain about my future. Even the smallest tasks seemed impossible. I went through a long journey of research, practice and hard-won lessons. Step by step, through trial and error, I found a way forward.
I’ve always been analytical, driven to uncover the root cause of problems. I spent seven years studying fibromyalgia in depth. I gained several coaching certifications and completed other courses, not to build a career but to deepen my understanding of my own body and mind. This gave me the confidence to write about recovery and, most importantly, the desire to share what I have learned so others can benefit. Some of the areas I trained in include:
- Certified Stretch Coach
- Chronic Pain Management Coach
- Emotional Resilience
- Fascia Release
- Fascial Fitness Coach
- Fascial Stretching
- Fibromyalgia Education
- Gut-Brain Connection
- Meditation and Mindfulness Coach
- Neuroscience Coach
- Pain Management
- Positive Psychology
- Self-Myofascial Release
- Sleep Science Coach
- Stress Management
These days, I live happily in the UK with my “rock,” my second husband, an English gentleman. Together we have raised a family, and I am blessed with twin daughters, four stepchildren, and a lot of step-grandchildren.
